Deciding What New Console to Get
Many people are huge fans of video games, and these people were quite excited when the next generation consoles came out. These three are the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. While they are all very nice, there are of course many differences between them.
The successor to the Xbox, created by Microsft, did not have much new features in regards to the controller. However, as with most next generation systems, the picture and sound quality was much better.
It can get boring to play games alone, which is why Xbox 360 can be used in conjunction with the Internet. By taking advantage of Xbox Live, players can battle against anybody in the world. Also, many television shows and content updates can be received via Xbox Live.
Sony recognized the importance of graphics and installed every Playstation 3 with a Blu-ray player. That way, games are processed with extreme power, and as an added bonus, Blu-ray movies can be viewed with the PS3.
Like the Xbox 360, the PS3 has an online gaming facility known as the Playstation Network. However, Xbox Live had existed with the original Xbox as well, but the Playstation Network debuted with the PS3. Connecting to this online service allows many of the same capabilities as Xbox Live.
Both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have classic controllers that do not differ so much from predecessors. The Nintendo Wii is completely different from any previous gaming system. It uses a controller that functions via motion, so there are fewer buttons than with the 360 or PS3.
One of the characteristics of Nintendo is its focus on family games. The Wii is perfect for families, although of course there are a multitude of games aimed at adults, just not as many as with the other consoles.
Many people have trouble deciding on just one console, and still others feel compelled to get all three. For hardcore games, this may be necessary, as certain games are released exclusively for a single console.
